Has the playerbase become too lazy to type the FW channels in themselves? Or does EVE not want to play with y'all anymore?
If things still function the way they did, I'd suggest getting a corp mate on a PC in EVE to call out battle locations. Typing in a battles address in Tranquility was a pain in the @ss using a controller. |

So instead of trying to obtain support, your plan is to say f*ck it, not even try to obtain support and demand CCP forces EVE pilots to play with you?
Have you even attempted to look into the channels listed in the threads I posted? Or is clicking on the link too much trouble?
Jesus.
On a side note, what's up Dead Cavino. This is Dunk Mujunk from R1P. Trolling the forums with my old farm alts and losing the last little bit of faith I had left in humanity.

Then I would suggest 1 of 3 things.
#1- Find a Corp with an EVE alliance, and join them.
#2- Obtain your own EVE alliance
#3- Send you, a Corp mate, or even an interested friend into EVE to play and become your OB support.
From what Cavino has said, my diagnosis of EVE not wanting to play with y'all anymore stands. Apparently the risk isn't worth the reward, and if pilots aren't actively trying to provide OB support anymore, putting them in a chat with Dust mercs won't change anything (more than likely they would simply close that chat). I'm not sure what faction you are looking for, but the first thread I posted was made last month. If those few channels are now dead--- **points at #1, #2, #3** --- those are your options. |

Probably not.
However, I don't imagine the OB difficulties stem from the inability of mercs and pilots to get into the same channel. This suggests an overwhelming majority of players in both EVE and Dust have forgotten what was a very well known process (I had at least 2 channels for each faction when I played).
If indeed there are pilots wanting to provide Orbital support, and there are mercs in need of orbital support, a breakdown of what was once fairly solid communication (fw channels used to be packed) is the culprit, as opposed to CCP not imposing an official fw channel on all players.
And if indeed there are pilots wanting to provide Orbital support, the most timely manner to obtain said support would be to do so independent of CCP, using both EVE and Dust forums. Would that take some work? If there really is such a drastic breakdown in cross game communication, of course. However we are talking about 2 games that require a significant investment of time and energy, and if coordination of this type is simply to much work to be bothered with, why worry about OB support to begin with?
On the other hand, if the issue is a general lack of pilots interested in providing support (which sounds like it is currently the case at this moment), all the forced fw channels in the world will not encourage EVE pilots to return to support detail. I will acknowledge that at the very least, a forced channel may from time to time corral some support from a pilot as long as it is extremely convenient (it is close, they are set up for OB, is the area safe, are they even interested, so on as stated by Cavino). Even still, from the way it sounds the gains from providing support are simply not worth it. This would mean the best and most time efficient way to obtain support would be to send a merc up into EVE to (slowly) become that support, or to get in touch with what is apparently the last few entities in EVE which actively seek to provide support, and again the best way to do this would be to send a merc up to EVE.
To boil it down-
Either both games have suffered a massive Big O-esq memory loss, and the player bases simply need to come together on the forums or in game, just as it was done before, and restore communication lines
Or
With everything else going on in EVE, with the poor risk/reward ratio for support pilots, and with the connection to EVE being on the down swing since FF14 (with no signs of it rising back to, and beyond, it's peak), there are simply a very small amount of pilots interested in providing support.
To boil it down even more-
Either the playerbase has become too lazy to obtain orbital support.
Or
EVE doesn't want to play with y'all anymore.
Which means either-
Action from CCP is not needed
Or
Action from CCP will not change the situation.
I feel my points are vaild, though I'm sure many disagree. |
